Are you rising strong?
How do I find you today? How do you feel when you read those words?
How you react and interpret this title will totally depend on your experiences in these last months.
In her book ‘Rising Strong’ Brene Brown shares her thoughts and process for the ways in which we can essentially ‘get back up’ after we have fallen.
Now although you may still be standing, I think we are all changed by this last year?
In her ‘Manifesto of the brave and brokenhearted’ she says: “We are the authors of our lives, we write our own daring endings… showing up is our way home, truth is our song. We are the brave and brokenhearted. We are rising strong”.
I just love this and I really do take this to heart. Literally nothing makes me happier than when I get the feedback that my clients feel able to ‘rise up stronger’ at the end of our time together.
This is a really helpful image and reminder of where health coaches sit. I also hold onto the vision of the UK Health Coaching Association, which is: “For every individual to be empowered to manage their own health and wellness and to thrive in life”.
How would you know then that you were really ‘thriving’?
How does thriving look and feel?
Also what does the term ‘wellness’ mean to you?
What can you tell me about feeling empowered? If we had some time together today and we were talking about these things - exploring the idea of creating an inspiring vision for your health and wellness? Or instead perhaps you could tell me about a role model that you look up to? Someone who you feel is doing a decent job navigating their way through this chapter we are calling mid-life?
What help and support do you need to move closer towards your own vision? What are the first steps?
What would really motivate you to make some changes? Where do you start? Which is the best route?
When I read about the wellness trends for the coming year, Jessica Smith writing for LS:N Global said:
“the pandemic has provided painful, incontrovertible evidence that we need to shift our healthcare system away from profiting from sickness and gear towards preventing it”
I really could not agree more and feel that now is such an important time to take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing. Really embrace and embody the notion that prevention is better than cure.
Are you ready to make a start? Create your very own vision for your health and wellness?
The key to any compelling vision is that is is one that motivates you from within. A vision that lights you up! One that even the very thought of it puts that lovely little spring in your step, that warm flicker of joy in your heart.
So, I am inviting you to come and join me - together let us really create and be a key part of this ‘whole health movement’.
I know that you can achieve great things through making some small but significant changes. By making changes to your daily habits along with different choices, well then you can really begin to thrive.
My offer is that I am here to help support you and so my question is why not make NOW the right time? Make a start and begin shaping your brighter future today, and then you too can be ‘rising strong’.
